Research and Develepment

We believe that R&D is the heart and soul of our business. With the ever increasing cast of competitors, the need to produce competitive designs is paramount. Traditional boatbuilding methods are very time consuming, making rapid prototype development and testing impractical. Well aquainted with the benefits of CAD, we designed and constructed a CNC router capable of cutting a dead accurate, full scale prototye from a 3-D CAD model.
Our hull designs are generated using proprietary mathematical models. Drag prediction models are employed for preliminary comparison of various shapes. Because the hull shapes are parametric, we can design, build, test, and redesign varying only one element at a time. This methodology helps us fine tune our designs quickly.
The use of CAD is not limited to the hull shapes. Every component of the Hurricane and Renegade were modelled before the first part was made. The canvases were also designed in CAD, and the patterns were laser cut to ensure accuracy.
